Social Initiatives in the Netherlands

Dioraphte supports social projects that enhance people’s dignity and self-reliance. We focus on people in poverty, people with disabilities and people from refugee or migration backgrounds, with or without residency status. In this regard, children, young people and the elderly have our special attention.

We prefer projects and activities that reach large groups of people in our society. That is why we focus on initiatives that go beyond the local, or to local initiatives that have the potential to grow into projects with regional or even national impact. Dioraphte uses a processing time of four months on average and we do not, in principle, fund retroactively. So please keep in mind that an application should be submitted in a timely manner.

No funding can be requested for the following:

• one-day activities;
• acquisition, restoration, remodeling or new construction of real and movable property;
• festivities, participation in and/or organization of symposia, congresses, conferences, publication of books, construction of websites or production of films and the like;
• activities that already exist (in an area) where the target group can also go;
• activities that overwhelmingly fall within the remit of government; 
• wholly or almost wholly publicly subsidized institutions;
• initiatives of a predominantly political or religious nature, and 
• organizations without ANBI status.
