We are pleased to announce the appointment of Cate Nyambura as our new advisor for Africa. Cate will lead the further development and implementation of our new strategy on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), primarily focused on the African continent.
Her arrival marks a next step in sharpening our strategic direction and approach: we have sharpened our focus on what is relevant and needed and have committed to ensuring that decisions about our work in Africa are no longer exclusively made from the Netherlands. Instead, we are building a model based on regionally grounded expertise and proximity to the communities we aim to serve (New Strategy ‘Social Initiatives in Africa’ – Dioraphte)
Cate brings more than 15 years of experience in SRHR, adolescent health, HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment, gender-based violence prevention and response, gender justice, and economic justice. Her background spans civil society, advocacy, research, and philanthropy, operating at the intersection of grassroots organizing and international frameworks. Based in Nairobi, she has worked in 48 African countries and travelled to 30 out of 55.
Cate will play a key role in bringing our new SRHR strategy to life. We warmly welcome her to the team.
