Dating from 1967, William Walton’s The Bear is based on a play by Anton Chekhov. It depicts a tragicomedy that unfolds through a highly unlikely scenario. In it, grief, coping and seduction play a significant role. And it’s this production by SALIX which Dioraphte is supporting with a contribution.

Sustainable
The Bear premiered at the Grachtenfestival 2023. The stage set was built from sustainable and recycled materials. Moreover, it was also designed so that it could be easily adapted for use in other performances following The Bear.
